About The Artist

The art, to me, is the challenge. If I am not challenged, I have not created a work of art. The inspiration is: "What will the next piece be?". The medium is: fine and / or pure metal wire.

As a child I wrote poetry mostly, trying to awaken the inner mind of the reader. All skill grows, and as mine did with poetry I began to realize that words were not the answer. Words have a different meaning to each new observer. Therefor words cannot express ones inner awakening when coming from another person. My poetry slowly died as I realized more and more the uselessness of words to ones inner self.

In 1996 I stumbled upon my medium. In a small town in Arkansas (Eureka Springs), wire became my inspiration. Wire became life to me in a sense, as I needed money to live, and wrapping semi precious stones could give me that. I had such a nack I took to it right away. Never being taught, I was selling my items at a local shop on the first day. I soon began to realize that the metal I was using (at that time sterling silver) was an intense amplifier. It not only amplified the stones I was using but also the energy I had while creating the piece. Before I left town, the shop owner approached me with a box of different shapes and gauges of wire. She asked one question: "What can you do with these types of wires?" (Thanks Cat). That simple question set the mood for the next 11 years of my life.

I then continued traveling and along my path I would find discarded wire from electrical devices and buildings (mostly copper). Stripping the wire was quite a chore but I was able to acquire a free medium from doing so. The next 4 years were spent learning "how wire works". This time period was entirely study for me. I simply experimented with every technique I could come up with; bending, twisting, coiling, weaving, you name it. During this time of my life I had the least I ever had. No money, no place to live, no car, nothing. I lived out of a backpack. To me at the time this was comfortable as all of my energy was in my study.

In 2001 I traveled to Tuscon, AZ with a baby girl on the way, for the biggest gem and mineral show in the world. Something awoke in me at this show. I finally saw the application for what I had been blindly studying for so many years. I saw how so many people (of all types be it animal, plant, or crystal) were in need. Some in need of direction, some encouragement, some simply love. By combining my new gift with what I was already channeling on a daily basis since childhood, I could help all the peoples of the world.

I then began creating talisman, items one could wear to help awaken their inner self. Each belonging to a specific owner even during their creation. As if they were asking for them and I was answering. Each one being entirely different, they all found their ways to these perspective owners. Some pieces would take several years before their owner were present. At this time I was also experimenting with human sculpture yet keeping it locked away so I could learn from it. This never made very much money but got my family and I by, while fulfilling my ultimate goal at the same time.

In 2003 I began sculpting the images I have seen since birth. Generators, if you will, every one based on sacred geometry, every one able to spin as if to activate them. These pieces found homes quicker than anything I had created to date. They also seemed to attract a larger crowd then I was used to with my work. Not one of these pieces could have been reproduced as only the technique was skill, the rest was entirely channeled. These pieces came in the moment and no other time.

In 2004 I decided to prove fourth dimension on this 3 dimensional plane. This gave birth to Li, a work that showed a physical representation of the fourth dimension. Named after and the same way as my second child, Li produces fourth dimensional gateways creating a channel of energy I again did not understand.

I have spent the past four years trying to understand it. I now realized that I am capable of creating pieces that can help all of these peoples at once instead of individually.

My inspiration now is: "growth for all peoples in and on all planes". If the mind of the holder is open these pieces can surely bring us great things as a whole. They are teaching tools and I am not our teacher. My job now is to place them in the right hands.

My art is: "creation".

My inspiration is: "growth".

My job is: "us".

My name is: Michael David
